Fast Product Search Capabilities
Product search capabilities have been enhanced in Savance Enterprise. As a user who enters Quotes, Orders, RFQs, POs, one will be able to quickly do a “google-like” search in a field regardless of part number, description or UD classifications typed in exact order to find that part number without Inventory Lookup Search popping up The following document will cover how to make the best use of this new search.

Excluding Special Characters
In order to remove all "-" "/" "." setting for Exact Match, disregarding O 's 0's,
Settings>General Settings>General>User Settings

Auto Select Exact Part Number Match

Ignore Special Characters /,\-,0,O
If “Ignore Special Characters /,\-,0,O” is checked, then typing that item regardless of special characters will be returned. This setting is off by default.
Example searching with 123 ABC will populate 123-ABC, 123 ABC, 123ABC.
If you are wanting to search for an exact match, limiting Inventory Lookup Screen from appearing, select Auto Select Exact Part Number Match
Example searching with 123-ABC will populate 123-ABC.
Upon entering info for a new quote to look up an item with special characters, click on spyglass by Part Number column Inventory Lookup Screen appears.

Type in a Part Number. DO NOT include special characters
- Ex: “123 ABC” vs “123-ABC”

Click Search. Items with special characters appear even though did not enter them

Click Clear.

Enter a Description with special characters in description, but without special characters

Click search

Items with item description that has special characters still appear in results

Fuzzy Search
Upon clicking spyglass in Quotes/Orders RFQ/POs grid by Part Number, users should be able to enter words in any order. Items with those words in any order in part number or alias (or description if you entered in description) will appear in search results. Sorted by best match.

Type in a part number or words in no particular order in Search Part# column
- Ex: “ABC 123” vs “123 ABC”

Or Type in a description with words in no particular order
- Ex: “knob thermostat” vs “thermostat knob”
Item lookup screen appears
- Items containing those words numbers in any order appear in search
- Applies to Part Number, Description, Aliases
The above two scenarios also work in the new Search Part# column
Search Part # Column
A new column has been introduced, the Search Part # column. Upon entering info for a new quote, need to look up an item can click into Search Part # column

Begin typing in some characters of a part number, description, or alias

Items containing those characters in part number, description, or alias appear in a listing

As type more characters, search narrows further

An Auto Filter Row
For example check “Is Available (Whse) checkbox checked in filter row

Only items containing characters typed in, have available quantities in order headers warehouse will display

Can also add or remove columns with column chooser feature

Select an item from search list

Item will appear on line of quote

Type in Part Number OR Description that honors all as described above

Anything that is orange is hyperlinked For instance

Part Number will hyperlink to Item Manager screen for that Part Number

Availability will hyperlink to Warehouse Inventory Log.

Adding filters is sticky. For example, if the user checks “Is Available (Whse)” in the auto filter row, only items with an available qty in that warehouse should be displayed.
